It is All About Your Skin. All About You
The lipids that are densely packed between the stratum corneum cells, the outermost layer of the epidermis, and protect the inside of the skin are called intercellular lipids.
In the diagram on the left, the long, thin cells at the top and bottom are stratum corneum cells. You can see that they form thin layers.
Filling the gaps are intercellular lipids made of phospholipids and other substances. As shown in the figure, they are shaped like oil legs with a water body. Oils are attracted to each other, and water is attracted to each other, so they line up neatly as shown in the figure.
An additional layer of water is created between the water bodies lined up next to each other. This layer of water is maintained in the stratum corneum near the surface of the skin, giving the skin moisture and elasticity and protecting the inner part of the skin from irritation such as ultraviolet rays. When fresh collagen is applied to the skin with FAITH cosmetics, it penetrates into this layer of water. Fresh collagen has a triple helix structure, which gives it excellent water retention and keeps the skin moist.
When the lamellar structure is disrupted, the intercellular lipids begin to be lost, the amount of water lost by evaporation increases, and the ability to hold the stratum corneum cells together decreases.
If it progresses further, even the stratum corneum cells that should normally remain on the skin will fall off, causing the skin surface to become uneven and losing its luster and transparency.
When it gets to this point, the barrier function is greatly reduced and the skin becomes vulnerable to external stimuli, which causes the lamellar structure to collapse further and the skin condition to deteriorate further, entering a vicious cycle.
Both Faith’s unique penetration technology “MC2X” and its patented Fresh Collagen technology rely on tiny particles called liposomes that contain beneficial ingredients.
Because liposomes are very small spheres, they can easily penetrate the skin and deliver beneficial ingredients, collagen, hyaluronic acid, and more to where they are needed, but that’s not all.
The intercellular lipids of the stratum corneum are made up of phospholipids made from water and oil.
FAITH’s liposomes contain phospholipids, and when the liposomes penetrate the skin, the capsules burst, delivering the beneficial ingredients. The phospholipids encapsulated in the liposomes fill in the gaps in the intercellular lipids of the stratum corneum, reconditioning the stratum corneum.
